The Family Health Supervision Department at the Shaheed Ali Shia Health Center in Khurmal district announced the opening of this new section, which will expand medical services for families, especially women. A dedicated space within the center has now been allocated for women’s care.
Hawkar Ibrahim, director of the Shaheed Ali Shia Health Center, said the project was implemented by the Healthy Life Organization in coordination with the UNFPA. It was completed in less than four months, built on an area of 120 square meters with a total cost of 60 million dinars.
He explained that the new section includes a reception room, a women’s clinic, and a hall for exercise and counseling. Its main goal is to provide broader health services for women, monitor pregnant women, supply essential needs, and support child growth.
Ibrahim added that although the center previously had a gynecologist, there was no special unit for women’s operations. The new section now includes a dedicated women’s clinic where minor surgeries, such as contraceptive insertions and abortions, can be performed. These services were not previously available due to a lack of proper facilities and equipment.
The project aims to strengthen women’s healthcare and improve access to essential medical services in Khurmal.
