Kurdistan Region’s Meteorological Authority forecasts steady temperatures across the country this week as summer heat gradually ebbs. Autumn-like conditions are expected to persist through the end of the week.
Officials reported mostly clear skies nationwide, with scattered clouds in northern and southern regions. There is a slight chance of rain in far northeastern areas. Winds will vary, blowing at 20–30 kilometers per hour in central and southern provinces, occasionally stirring dust. Northern areas will experience lighter winds, keeping conditions calmer.
Daytime visibility will generally range from 8 to 10 kilometers. In dusty regions, it may drop to 5–7 kilometers but is expected to improve by evening.
In the Kurdish governorates, Erbil and Duhok will remain cooler at 31–32 degrees, while Sulaymaniyah will reach 30 degrees.
Meteorologists said these autumn-like conditions will continue through Friday, with minimal temperature changes across most governorates. Residents can expect comfortable daytime warmth and relatively mild nights, a contrast to the recent summer heatwaves.
Officials advise the public to take normal precautions against dust in affected areas and to stay hydrated during the warmer afternoons. Travelers and outdoor workers are encouraged to monitor daily forecasts, especially in central and southern regions where dust may reduce visibility temporarily.
The Meteorological Authority noted that this stable weather pattern provides an opportunity for agricultural activities, as temperatures and wind conditions remain favorable. Citizens are reminded that seasonal shifts may gradually introduce cooler nights, signaling the full onset of autumn.
