Bahrain has announced plans to open a consulate in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region. Alongside this, direct flights between Manama and Erbil will soon begin, boosting both diplomatic and economic ties.

Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani met with Bahrain’s ambassador, Khalid Ahmed Al-Mansour, to discuss key developments. Their conversation covered political changes in the region and the growing relationship between Erbil and Manama.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Mansour praised Barzani’s leadership and his effective role in guiding the Kurdistan Region. He emphasized how the region maintains a strong and respected presence across the Middle East.

Al-Mansour also confirmed Bahrain’s full support for the Kurdistan Region. He added that the launch of direct flights aims to strengthen cooperation and make travel easier for citizens of both regions.

The new consulate in Erbil will deepen diplomatic engagement and create new opportunities for business, tourism, and cultural exchange. Moreover, direct air travel will increase movement and encourage partnerships in multiple sectors.
