Cooler Weather Brings Relief to Parts of Kurdistan

Penjwen – While much of the region faces intense summer heat, several areas in the Kurdistan Region are experiencing unexpectedly mild temperatures. According to local sources in Rawandizi, towns like Penjwen, Haji Omaran, and villages across the Balakayati area enjoy cooler conditions, especially at night.

In these mountainous locations, the temperature drops significantly after sunset. Unlike the sweltering heat gripping other regions, these areas offer fresh air and comfortable evenings. Residents report nighttime temperatures falling well below the regional average, making daily life more bearable.

Local shopkeepers and restaurant owners in Penjwen say the weather has brought a rise in visitors. Many people from nearby cities are now traveling to these cooler spots to escape the heat. Families are spending their evenings outdoors, enjoying fresh breezes and natural scenery.

The unique geography of these areas plays a big role in the climate difference. Higher altitudes and thick greenery help reduce heat buildup during the day. As a result, both locals and tourists are finding some welcome relief.

Officials are encouraging eco-tourism in these areas as a way to boost the local economy. Many believe these cooler zones will attract even more visitors in the coming weeks.
