Deputy Speaker Confirms Smooth Path for Kurdistan Oil Exports

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament announced that no barriers remain to oil exports from the Kurdistan Region. He explained that recent talks between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government produced a new understanding.

Over the past two days, both sides agreed on a mechanism for handling non-oil revenues. This step cleared the way for broader cooperation on financial issues. Leaders now expect the progress to ease pressure on public employees across the Kurdistan Region.

According to officials, salaries for government workers should move forward as early as next week. The new arrangement helps restore confidence after months of disputes over oil and revenue sharing.

The Deputy Speaker stressed that energy exports remain vital for the economy of the entire region. He noted that smoother coordination between Erbil and Baghdad benefits everyone. At the same time, he emphasized that both sides must continue dialogue to prevent future obstacles.

Observers believe this agreement represents a turning point. By linking non-oil revenues with a clear plan for salaries, both governments showed readiness to work together. However, they also recognize that deeper disputes still require long-term solutions.

Despite these challenges, today’s progress gives hope to thousands of public employees waiting for stability. Leaders in Erbil and Baghdad now face the task of protecting this fragile breakthrough.
