Erbil Farmers to Receive Next Round of Wheat Payments

The Erbil Silos announced that the next installment of cash payments for local farmers will be distributed. Farmers in Erbil’s jurisdiction should prepare to collect their payments in sequence.

This year, the Kurdistan Region delivered nearly 400,000 tons of wheat to Baghdad, with over 120,000 tons coming from Erbil province alone. The payments aim to support farmers who contributed to this supply.

Miran Bakhtiar, Director of Grain Trading in Erbil, stated that farmers with wheat batches numbered 1001 to 1163 can collect their cash checks at TBI Bank on Sunday, October 19, 2025. These farmers will receive their payments directly at the bank.

Farmers who supplied 50 tons of wheat or less to the Erbil silos can pick up their payments directly, while those who provided larger amounts will receive their checks in subsequent rounds, coordinated with Baghdad.

Bakhtiar added that before the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, another payment round may be issued, but no official confirmation has been released yet.

In total, Erbil and Koya silos served nearly 3,900 farmers, providing over 120,000 tons of wheat this year. The total value of wheat payments for farmers in Erbil’s jurisdiction reached 97 billion Iraqi dinars, with 25 billion dinars already distributed in two prior installments.

These payments are part of ongoing efforts to support local agriculture, ensure timely compensation for wheat producers, and maintain a steady supply for national reserves. Farmers are encouraged to check their batch numbers and attend the designated bank to collect their payments promptly.
