Kurdistan 2025 Hajj season officially launched with its first air convoy to Saudi Arabia.
A total of 146 pilgrims boarded the inaugural flight from Erbil International Airport, departing under the Kurdistan flag.
The departure marks the beginning of a series of well-organized pilgrim convoys planned by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Speaking at a press conference, Minister of Endowments Pshtewan Sadiq praised the coordination behind this year’s efforts.
“We have completed all administrative, logistical, and religious arrangements,” the minister confirmed.
He added that trained religious guides will accompany all pilgrims throughout the sacred journey.
While this was the first air convoy, two earlier land convoys had already traveled to the holy sites.
According to Sadiq, more flights and bus groups will follow in a phased rollout.
The Kurdistan 2025 Hajj season includes 5,136 pilgrims in total, with all participants scheduled in batches.
Organizers have confirmed that transportation will occur by both air and land over the coming days.
Sharif said that 144 pilgrims from Mosul will head to Erbil after dawn prayers on Monday.
He further noted that all logistics have been finalized, ensuring a smooth process for travelers.
Additional flights are expected from Nineveh later this week.
With thousands set to embark on the holy pilgrimage, the Kurdistan 2025 Hajj season reflects meticulous planning and deep spiritual significance.
This year’s coordinated effort is a major step in enhancing regional pilgrimage services.
