A high-level German delegation visiting Erbil praised the Kurdistan Region for its stability, security, and spirit of coexistence. The group, led by Minister of State Florian Hassler and joined by two members of the Baden-Württemberg State Parliament, met with Kurdistan Regional Government Interior Minister Rebar Ahmed to discuss regional cooperation and shared priorities.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the strong ties between the Kurdistan Region and Germany, focusing on governance, humanitarian efforts, and institutional development. Minister Ahmed highlighted the region’s ongoing efforts to maintain stability while promoting diversity and peaceful coexistence among different communities.
Minister Hassler commended the Kurdistan Region for its progress in protecting minority rights and fostering an inclusive society. He noted that Germany values its partnership with the region and aims to expand cooperation in education, security, and cultural exchange.
The delegation also expressed appreciation for the Kurdistan Region’s role in supporting displaced people and ensuring safety across its territories. Officials from both sides agreed to continue dialogue and develop projects that strengthen mutual understanding and partnership.
The visit underscored the Kurdistan Region’s reputation as a stable and cooperative partner in an increasingly complex regional landscape.
