Komal Party leader Ali Bapir urged citizens across the Kurdistan Region to take part in Iraq’s upcoming parliamentary elections instead of boycotting them. Speaking at a campaign gathering, Bapir emphasized that political engagement represents both a moral and national duty for every Kurd who values democracy and justice.
He said that those who refuse to vote surrender their voice and allow others to decide their future. Bapir stressed that boycotting elections weakens Kurdistan’s position in Baghdad and limits its ability to protect its constitutional rights. He called on citizens, especially young voters, to “act responsibly and make their votes count.”
Moreover, the Komal leader highlighted that the elections offer an opportunity to correct past mistakes and bring change through peaceful, democratic means. He noted that participation strengthens institutions and ensures that the Kurdish people remain influential in shaping the country’s future.
Bapir also appealed to political parties to maintain transparency and respect for voters’ will. He urged them to run clean campaigns focused on public service rather than division or personal attacks.
As Iraq prepares for its November 11 elections, political leaders across Kurdistan continue to encourage high voter turnout to demonstrate unity and strengthen regional representation in the federal parliament.
