KRG Opens Representative Office in Madrid to Boost International Ties

The Kurdistan Regional Government inaugurated a new representative office in Madrid on Monday, officials confirmed. The opening aims to strengthen diplomatic, trade, and investment ties with Spain.

KRG officials said the office will serve as a central hub for promoting regional stability and economic cooperation. They highlighted opportunities for Spanish investors and businesses in both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

During the inauguration, officials emphasized the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to host foreign investment projects. They noted that key sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and technology, are open to collaboration with international partners.

The KRG representative office will also focus on facilitating trade relations and expanding cultural and educational exchanges. Authorities stressed that the office will act as a bridge for ongoing dialogue between Spain and the Kurdistan Region.

Officials said the move reflects the KRG’s broader strategy to increase its global engagement. They added that strengthening international partnerships is essential for regional stability and sustainable development.

Spanish business leaders in attendance expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities. They emphasized the importance of direct communication channels with the Kurdistan Region to support long-term projects.

KRG authorities confirmed that the Madrid office is part of a wider diplomatic expansion plan. They plan to open additional representative offices in Europe to further enhance trade, investment, and political cooperation.

Officials concluded that the new office will play a pivotal role in promoting economic growth, supporting Spanish investors, and increasing awareness about the Kurdistan Region’s business environment.
