Erbil — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced the successful launch of 733 investment and tourism projects under the leadership of the ninth cabinet, marking a major milestone in the region’s economic growth strategy.
Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment, stated that these initiatives align directly with the cabinet’s vision to strengthen economic infrastructure, diversify income sources, and promote tourism as a key pillar of sustainable development. He explained that the government continues to prioritize sectors capable of creating jobs, attracting investors, and improving public services across all provinces.
Shukri highlighted that the new projects cover a range of industries, including construction, agriculture, energy, and hospitality. He noted that tourism-focused projects have seen a sharp rise, reflecting the region’s growing reputation as a safe and attractive destination for visitors from across the Middle East and beyond.
In addition, he emphasized that the KRG remains determined to simplify investment procedures, enhance transparency, and support private sector partnerships to build a more resilient economy. “Our goal is to make the Kurdistan Region a hub for investment and sustainable tourism,” Shukri said.
The ninth cabinet’s ongoing development plan continues to focus on stability, job creation, and economic diversification across the Kurdistan Region.
