The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) began its largest election campaign in Erbil with President Masoud Barzani leading the event. The rally marked a powerful display of unity and strength, showing the KDP’s readiness for Iraq’s upcoming parliamentary elections.
The event took place at Saad Abdullah Hall, gathering KDP leaders, candidates, and supporters from across the Kurdistan Region. Barzani’s presence highlighted the significance of this campaign, which the KDP describes as vital for the region’s political future in Baghdad.
This major launch followed a vibrant public rally in Kirkuk, where thousands attended a colorful carnival. Together, the two events illustrated the KDP’s balanced strategy — combining grassroots mobilization with strong political leadership.
At the Kirkuk rally, Hiwa Ahmed Mustafa, head of the KDP’s Kirkuk-Garmiyan office, called the gathering a show of “civil and peaceful strength.” He said the KDP promotes coexistence among Kurds, Arabs, Turkmens, and Christians, emphasizing unity over division.
In Erbil, Barzani and KDP leaders delivered a clear message of organization, solidarity, and commitment to defending Kurdish rights. The campaign aims to strengthen Kurdistan’s role in Baghdad and ensure fair representation in the federal parliament.
The KDP plans to reach millions of registered voters across Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaimani. Each city represents a crucial part of the KDP’s electoral map, and mobilizing every vote has become a central goal.
With both large-scale public events and strategic political gatherings, the KDP seeks to project confidence, stability, and unity. Its campaign reflects long-term ambitions to protect Kurdish interests and promote coexistence across Iraq.
