Kurdistan Leader Backs Peace Progress in Turkiye’s Political Process

Kurdistan’s Masoud Barzani emphasized the value of dialogue in achieving peace in Turkiye, hailing recent steps as encouraging progress. He welcomed a delegation from Turkiye’s pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) at the Saladin Resort, where he stressed the importance of continued efforts to strengthen diplomacy.

Barzani described the recent peace developments as significant, saying they move in the right direction. He pointed out that ten years of discussion always bring more value than one hour of armed conflict. His remarks underlined the enduring commitment to peace through understanding.

During the meeting, Barzani explained that long-term peace requires patience and well-considered action. He noted that successful outcomes must depend on dialogue, not violence. Political struggle, mutual respect, and diplomacy build stronger foundations than conflict ever can.

He also encouraged political unity across Kurdistan to help support peaceful efforts in Turkiye. According to him, collective action will create stronger political influence and moral clarity. The Kurdistan Region, he said, stands ready to contribute to peaceful solutions.

The HDP delegation expressed appreciation for Barzani’s support. They said his ongoing commitment to peace plays a vital role in shaping positive political momentum. HDP members also highlighted the need to protect human rights, promote mutual trust, and build stronger cooperation across the region.

Barzani agreed, urging both Kurdish and Turkish leaders to remain focused on peaceful dialogue. He stated that peace not only helps Turkiye but benefits all nearby regions. Shared prosperity, stability, and dignity, he explained, grow from unity—not division.

In addition, Barzani emphasized the need to maintain a peaceful approach despite political differences. He asked all leaders to avoid inflammatory rhetoric or confrontational moves. Only calm voices and serious cooperation, he said, can resolve old disputes.

Observers see Barzani’s involvement as crucial. His leadership and moral influence have shaped past efforts toward peace. As a respected Kurdish figure, he continues to champion nonviolence and communication over armed tactics.

Moving forward, Barzani said that peace should remain the top priority. He called on leaders, citizens, and media outlets to support peaceful outcomes with truth and transparency. According to him, long-term peace builds a better future for everyone.
