Kurdistan Leaders Highlight Security and Voter Participation in Iraq’s Parliamentary Election

Kurdistan Region officials underscored both security and voter participation as key priorities during Iraq’s parliamentary election. Interior Minister Reber Ahmed called on citizens to cast their votes responsibly and choose “true representatives” who will defend the interests of the Kurdish people and strengthen democratic values across Iraq.

He stressed that every vote contributes to shaping a fairer and more balanced political future for both the Kurdistan Region and the country as a whole. The minister also encouraged voters to remain calm and follow official procedures to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

Meanwhile, Police Chief Major General Tariq Ahmed announced that a comprehensive security plan covers all polling stations throughout the Kurdistan Region. He confirmed that police units and security forces are working in full coordination to guarantee safety and prevent any disturbances during voting hours.

Local reports indicate a strong voter turnout across Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaimani, with citizens showing enthusiasm and confidence in the democratic process. Authorities emphasized that public cooperation with security teams is essential to maintaining the peaceful environment observed so far.
