Kurdistan – Masrour Barzani Honors Women’s Union and Highlights Its Historic Role

KDP Deputy President Masrour Barzani marked the 73rd anniversary of the Kurdistan Women’s Union with strong praise for its historic contributions. He said the Union shaped the national struggle through determination, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. He also emphasized that Kurdish women stood on the front lines of resistance and strengthened the nation during every stage of its journey.

Masrour Barzani noted that the Women’s Union defended women’s rights with courage and constant activism. He said the organization offered protection, guidance, and unity for women across the Kurdistan Region. Furthermore, he highlighted how the Union supported the Peshmerga during difficult years and contributed to the defense of Kurdish communities. He explained that this support created stronger social resilience and deeper national solidarity.

Barzani also stressed that Kurdish society grows more stable when women lead key initiatives. He encouraged the Union to expand programs that empower girls, promote education, and strengthen family welfare.
