Erbil — Prime Minister Masrour Barzani laid the foundation stone for the landmark “Rerawy Zhiyan” project in Erbil, marking another milestone in the city’s transformation into a global tourist and cultural hub. The initiative aims to enhance public spaces, promote sustainable urban development, and improve the quality of life for residents.
PM Barzani praised Erbil’s growing global reputation and said, “With its rich history and forward-looking vision, Erbil is becoming one of the most prominent tourist cities in the world.” He emphasized that projects like Rerawy Zhiyan reflect the government’s commitment to innovation, environmental care, and people-centered progress.
The Rerawy Zhiyan development features interconnected walking paths, recreational zones, and extensive green spaces along a scenic watercourse. The design integrates nature and modern architecture, offering residents and visitors a place for relaxation, sports, and cultural activities.
Moreover, the project supports the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) broader vision of sustainable growth by creating new jobs, encouraging tourism, and reducing urban pollution. PM Barzani reaffirmed that such developments showcase the Ninth Cabinet’s ongoing efforts to build a greener, more prosperous Kurdistan.
As construction begins, excitement grows among Erbil residents who view the project as a symbol of progress and renewal for the Kurdistan Region’s capital.
