Kurdistan – PM Barzani Sends Condolences and Mobilizes Aid After Chamchamal Floods

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani offered deep condolences on Wednesday after deadly flash floods struck Chamchamal. He expressed heartfelt sympathy to the families who lost loved ones and wished fast recovery for everyone who suffered injuries. He also described the situation as extremely painful for the entire community.

Barzani immediately ordered government teams to reach the affected neighborhoods and support the victims. He directed all relevant agencies to assess the damage quickly and deliver direct assistance without delay. He also urged the teams to coordinate closely with local authorities to speed up relief operations.

The Prime Minister noted that the floods caused serious damage across the district. Homes filled with water, schools suffered destruction, and several government offices faced heavy losses. Barzani stressed that families need urgent help, and he instructed the ministries to provide shelter, food, and essential supplies.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of restoring blocked roads and repairing damaged infrastructure. He asked engineers to work continuously until the region regains stability. He also highlighted the need for long-term solutions to prevent similar disasters in the future.
