ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Kurdistan Region PM Masrour Barzani held a phone call with U.S. envoy Tom Barrack to discuss regional security and recent developments in Iraq and the wider Middle East.
During the conversation, both sides strongly condemned the recent attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region and the United States Embassy in Baghdad. They described the incidents as serious threats to security and stability.
PM Barzani stressed the importance of protecting diplomatic missions and maintaining stability across Iraq. He noted that such attacks undermine efforts to strengthen security and international cooperation.
Tom Barrack also condemned the incidents and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to supporting stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He emphasized the importance of continued coordination between Washington and Erbil.
