Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani cast his vote in Iraq’s parliamentary elections on Monday, encouraging all citizens to take part in shaping the country’s democratic future. He emphasized that every vote strengthens democracy and contributes to stability across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
After voting, President Barzani called on the public to participate actively, saying that elections offer the best path for change and representation. He also highlighted the importance of protecting the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring that every citizen’s voice counts equally.
Across the Kurdistan Region, more than 2.8 million voters are eligible to cast their ballots in 1,312 polling centers. Election officials confirmed that voting started on time and that the process has remained smooth and orderly throughout the day.
Observers reported strong turnout in major cities such as Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaimani, with citizens arriving early to exercise their rights. Many voters described the elections as a crucial moment for the country’s future and for securing the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people within Iraq.
