Kurdistan: Region Restores Full Electricity After Khor Mor Attack

Kurdistan officials confirmed the full restoration of electricity across the Region after the recent strike on the Khor Mor gas field. Ardalan Doski, Director General at the KRG Ministry of Electricity’s Diwan, said gas deliveries to power stations resumed without interruption. He explained that engineers worked around the clock to stabilize power generation. Moreover, he noted that electricity levels returned to normal as stations received consistent gas supplies.

Doski described the recovery process as swift and coordinated. He said technical teams inspected every unit, repaired damaged links, and monitored each station to prevent further issues. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of strong teamwork between the Ministry of Electricity and the Ministry of Natural Resources. Their cooperation helped restore the grid faster and ensured reliable energy for households and businesses.

Officials reported that neighborhoods affected by outages now enjoy steady electricity. They also highlighted improvements in load management, which helped balance supply and demand during the restoration period. Furthermore, they reviewed new protective measures to shield the energy sector from similar threats in the future.

KRG institutions stressed that defending energy infrastructure remains a top priority. They called for stronger security coordination with partners to prevent attacks that target essential services. They also encouraged investment in modern monitoring systems and advanced defensive technologies.
