Kurdistan Supports Peace Process in Turkiye with Barzani’s Continued Efforts

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani continues to lead vital efforts for peace in Turkiye. During a recent meeting, he welcomed a delegation from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and several Kurdish political leaders. The group praised his role in supporting the peace process and acknowledged the progress achieved so far.

Barzani commended the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) faction that decided to disarm. He called this step essential for peace in Turkiye and throughout the region. According to his office, he stressed that lasting peace needs strong political will and coordination.

Moreover, Barzani thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for supporting efforts to advance the peace process. He highlighted the importance of a shared vision to achieve long-term regional stability.

Delegation members who met with Barzani shared their appreciation for his leadership. They also emphasized that his support gives the peace process real momentum. As discussions continued, both sides agreed that peace offers the greatest benefit to all parties.

They noted that recent political shifts require thoughtful responses. Barzani encouraged all parties to support the transition and back efforts toward disarmament. He further stated that peace allows societies to grow stronger, united under common goals.

The HDP delegation also extended their gratitude to the Kurdistan Region Presidency for organizing and supporting the disarmament ceremony. They said this coordination made the event a major success and helped build public trust.

Barzani called on all stakeholders to strengthen this historic opportunity. He said the peace process remains a necessary step, especially as regional tensions increase. According to him, the commitment to peace ensures that future generations will grow up in safety and dignity.

As the disarmament of the PKK marks a new chapter, Barzani expressed optimism. He urged Kurdish and Turkish communities to keep building trust. Peace, he said, creates real opportunities for dialogue and progress.

The HDP delegation confirmed that they would continue pushing for political solutions. Barzani assured them that his support remains firm and that Kurdistan stands ready to assist in the next phase.

In closing, both parties stressed that successful peace builds mutual respect. They agreed to maintain contact and pursue common efforts toward reconciliation.
