Kurdistan Urges Diplomats to Raise Alarm Over Ongoing Attacks

The KRG has called on its diplomatic missions to raise awareness about ongoing attacks on the region. The request came during an online meeting with representatives abroad.

Sefin Dizayee, head of the Department of Foreign Relations, led the meeting. Advisors and diplomatic envoys also joined the discussion. They focused on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region. In addition, they reviewed the impact of regional conflicts.

A key topic was the continued attacks by outlaw groups inside Iraq. Officials said these attacks aim to create instability. They also warned that such actions threaten both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole.

Moreover, the meeting addressed relations between KRG Erbil and Baghdad. Participants discussed recent developments and ongoing efforts to resolve disputes. They stressed the importance of dialogue. They also called for cooperation between both sides.

At the same time, officials highlighted the wider impact of regional tensions. They noted that the conflict has affected daily life and security. Therefore, they urged diplomatic missions to inform host countries about these risks.

The KRG expressed appreciation for support from friendly countries. They specifically thanked Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. These countries helped facilitate the return of stranded citizens. This came after flight suspensions disrupted travel.

Officials emphasized that international awareness is essential. They believe stronger diplomatic engagement can help reduce tensions. In addition, they said coordinated efforts are needed to protect stability.

The KRG reiterated its commitment to peace and dialogue. However, it warned that continued attacks could undermine progress.
