Masrour Barzani and the KDP Set Clear Terms for Joining Baghdad Government

PM Masrour Barzani outlined firm conditions for the Kurdistan Democratic Party as negotiations continue with federal leaders in Baghdad. He stressed full constitutional implementation as the central requirement, and he argued that real progress starts when every political side respects the legal framework. Moreover, he said the KDP seeks true partnership because the Kurdistan Region needs stable guarantees for its future.

Barzani also addressed delays in forming the new KRG cabinet. He noted ongoing discussions with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and he urged faster movement because citizens expect efficient governance. Furthermore, he warned that long delays create public frustration and disrupt economic planning. He encouraged all sides to act responsibly and protect daily services.

In addition, Barzani criticized electoral disparities. He argued that unequal rules weaken trust and damage democratic confidence. Therefore, he called for reforms that offer fairness to all parties. He also emphasized that consistent standards strengthen political stability and reduce needless tension.

Barzani then turned to economic issues. He explained that the current oil export framework leaves the Kurdistan Region vulnerable to sudden disruptions. Consequently, he urged long-term agreements that safeguard revenues. He also encouraged structural solutions that prevent political interference in energy flows.

Finally, Barzani discussed his mediation efforts among Kurdish groups in Syria. He revealed that he continues encouraging dialogue between rival factions, and he stressed that Kurdish unity supports wider regional stability. Moreover, he said cooperation offers a path to stronger rights and fewer conflicts.

Through these points, Barzani pushed for fairness, partnership, and clear commitments as political talks continue in Baghdad.
