PM Barzani and UK Envoy Review Post-Election Priorities

PM Masrour Barzani met UK Ambassador Irfan Siddiq in Erbil to discuss Iraq’s political landscape after the recent elections. They reviewed key developments and emphasized the need for quick government formation. Moreover, both sides highlighted the importance of full constitutional commitments during this sensitive phase.

Barzani stressed that stability requires respect for constitutional rights. He also noted that clear political agreements can strengthen trust between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region. In addition, he underlined the need for constructive dialogue among all parties.

The ambassador welcomed ongoing cooperation and praised the Kurdistan Region for its steady political approach. Furthermore, Siddiq reaffirmed the UK’s support for stronger ties in security, economic development, and reform programs.
