PM Masrour Barzani criticized Baghdad for delaying the Kurdistan Region’s September salaries. He said the federal government holds “no justification” for the delay. Moreover, he stressed that the KRG fulfilled every obligation required under recent agreements.
Barzani explained that the Kurdistan Region continues exporting oil under the current arrangement. He noted that Erbil sends all required financial data to Baghdad. In addition, he stated that the KRG cooperates fully with federal audit teams.
He urged the federal government to release the funds without further hesitation. Barzani argued that public employees face unnecessary hardship because of the delay. Furthermore, he warned that repeated disruptions damage trust between both sides.
Transitioning to broader concerns, Barzani pointed out that stability requires predictable salary payments. He emphasized that citizens need confidence in state institutions. Additionally, he argued that political disagreements should never affect people’s livelihoods.
The prime minister also called for transparent communication between Erbil and Baghdad. He encouraged federal officials to respect constitutional rights and financial entitlements. Moreover, he stressed that cooperation strengthens unity and fairness across Iraq.
Overall, Barzani demanded swift action from the federal government. He reaffirmed the KRG’s commitment to dialogue, legal agreements, and economic responsibility. With continued cooperation, he believes both sides can prevent future delays and protect public welfare.
