PM Masrour Barzani Condemns Missile Strike on Peshmerga, Vows Response

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has strongly condemned a missile strike targeting Peshmerga forces, vowing that authorities will respond and calling for urgent action from Baghdad and the international community.

In a statement following the attack, Barzani described the incident as a serious act of aggression against the Kurdistan Region. He expressed condolences to the families of those affected and wished a swift recovery to the wounded.

The prime minister stressed that such attacks cannot continue without consequences. He warned that ongoing assaults pose a direct threat to the region’s security and stability.

“We will take all measures to counter this hostility on the Kurdistan Region,” Barzani said. He also called on the federal government to fulfill its responsibilities in preventing such incidents.

Barzani urged Baghdad to take decisive steps to stop armed groups behind the attacks. He emphasized the need to hold those responsible accountable and prevent further escalation.
