Makhmour – President Masoud Barzani called on Arab community leaders in Makhmour to vote for candidates and parties that defend coexistence and work toward the full implementation of Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution.
During the meeting, President Barzani highlighted the historical bonds among the diverse peoples of Kurdistan and emphasized that unity and mutual respect form the foundation of peace and progress in the region. He reaffirmed that coexistence remains a central value for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and a key pillar of its political agenda.
Barzani also noted that Article 140, which addresses the status of disputed territories such as Makhmour, represents a constitutional commitment that must be fulfilled through democratic and peaceful means. He urged voters to stand behind parties that prioritize justice, constitutional order, and equal rights for all communities.
“The people of Kurdistan must continue to live together in harmony,” Barzani said. “Only through solidarity and respect can we safeguard our shared future.”
Local Arab leaders expressed their appreciation for the President’s inclusive message and reaffirmed their readiness to cooperate in preserving the region’s stability and cultural diversity.
