President Barzani Visits Peshmerga Frontlines, Reviews Forces’ Conditions and Political Developments

Duhok – President Masoud Barzani visited the Peshmerga frontlines to assess the readiness of the forces and discuss the latest political developments in the Kurdistan Region.

During the visit, President Barzani met with senior officers and commanders to review progress in the ongoing reform and modernization of the Peshmerga Ministry. He expressed strong appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of the Peshmerga who continue to defend the Region’s stability and security.

Barzani inspected the troops’ living conditions and reaffirmed his commitment to improving their welfare, emphasizing that the Peshmerga remain “a source of pride and strength for the people of Kurdistan.”

He also highlighted the importance of unity and coordination among all Kurdish forces, especially during a period of regional and political challenges. “The Peshmerga’s loyalty and courage continue to protect Kurdistan’s freedom and democratic path,” Barzani stated.

The visit underscored the government’s broader efforts to enhance defense capabilities, professional training, and institutional reforms aimed at integrating Peshmerga units under a unified command structure.

President Barzani’s frontline visit comes at a crucial time, as discussions continue among Kurdish parties regarding security cooperation and political strategy ahead of upcoming national developments.
