President Masoud Barzani met with the Turkish Ambassador to discuss strengthening ties and addressing key political developments in the region. The meeting, also attended by Turkish Consul General in Erbil Erman Topçu, covered a range of topics including Iraq’s political landscape, the upcoming parliamentary elections, and relations among political parties.
During the talks, both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining stability and dialogue among all political forces. They highlighted that cooperation between Erbil and Ankara continues to play a vital role in supporting regional peace and economic growth.
President Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to fostering balanced relations with neighboring countries while protecting the region’s interests and democratic values. He noted that continued coordination with Türkiye contributes to mutual understanding and progress.
The Turkish Ambassador praised the Kurdistan Region’s stability and its constructive role in promoting cooperation throughout the region. He expressed Türkiye’s readiness to strengthen political and economic engagement with Erbil.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to continue regular dialogue and collaboration on issues of shared concern.
