President Masoud Barzani has warned that patience has its limits amid continued attacks by Iraqi armed groups on the Kurdistan Region.
In a statement, Barzani urged the federal government in Iraq to take serious action to halt the assaults and prevent further escalation.
“We call upon the Iraqi Government, the Council of Representatives of Iraq, and the political parties—specifically the Coordination Framework—to intervene seriously and set a limit to these aggressions,” he said.
The warning came after repeated attacks targeting areas in the Kurdistan Region. Officials note that these incidents have heightened security concerns and raised tensions between regional actors.
Barzani stressed that the Kurdistan Region has exercised patience and restraint in responding to such threats. However, he added, continued attacks cannot be ignored indefinitely.
He emphasized that the responsibility for addressing these incidents lies with the federal authorities and called on Iraqi institutions and political leaders to take concrete steps to stop the attacks and hold those responsible accountable.
Barzani also urged Iraqi political forces, particularly the Coordination Framework, to play a constructive role in resolving the situation and preventing further instability.
The warning reflects growing concern among Kurdish leaders about security threats targeting the Kurdistan Region. Officials continue to call for stronger cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad to address the issue.
Meanwhile, Barzani reaffirmed that the Kurdistan Region remains committed to stability and dialogue, but stressed that protecting the region and its citizens remains a top priority.
