President Nechirvan Barzani, Syrian FM Discuss Syria’s Future and National Dialogue in Munich

President Nechirvan Barzani met Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani in Munich to discuss Syria’s future and ongoing diplomatic efforts. The meeting focused on displacement, political transition, and advancing Syria national dialogue. From the beginning, both sides emphasized stability and inclusive solutions.

President Barzani stressed that Syria national dialogue must include all communities. He underlined the importance of constitutional guarantees and equal political participation. Moreover, he highlighted the need to protect the rights of Kurds and other components in Syria’s future framework.

Foreign Minister al-Shaibani praised President Barzani’s diplomatic role. He specifically commended Barzani’s efforts in supporting the Damascus-SDF agreement. According to al-Shaibani, constructive engagement helped reduce tensions and facilitated dialogue. Therefore, he described Barzani’s involvement as a positive contribution to Syria national dialogue.

Furthermore, he stressed that rebuilding trust among communities remains essential for Syria national dialogue to succeed.

Both leaders agreed that long-term stability depends on political compromise. They emphasized reconciliation, institutional reform, and inclusive governance. In addition, they committed to continued communication to support diplomatic progress.
