The Syrian Democratic Forces accused armed groups linked to Damascus of violating a ceasefire agreement across northern regions. Moreover, the SDF warned that continued attacks threaten civilian safety and regional stability.
According to an official statement released on Monday, the SDF Media Center reported several coordinated assaults overnight. These attacks targeted residential villages in the Jazira area and around Kobani. Consequently, the SDF described the actions as deliberate and dangerous.
First, SDF forces repelled an armored assault near Jalabiya during the morning hours. The clash occurred south of eastern Kobani. As a result, fighters prevented further advances toward civilian zones.
Later in the day, artillery fire struck the village of Qasmiya. Tragically, the shelling killed one child and injured three family members. Therefore, the incident heightened concerns about civilian protection.
Shortly afterward, armed groups launched three suicide drones toward the village of Qari. However, the attack caused only material damage. Still, residents experienced fear and displacement.
Later that night, shelling hit the village of Safa in the Chil Agha area. Although no casualties occurred, buildings suffered damage. Meanwhile, tension continued across the region.
In addition, the SDF confirmed injuries among its fighters. Four members sustained wounds during the attacks. Therefore, the SDF linked the violence to systematic ceasefire breaches.
Furthermore, SDF spokesperson Farhad Shami reported fresh ground assaults early Tuesday. He said armed groups attacked Khirab Ashk village using artillery and direct fire. Consequently, SDF units responded in self-defense.
Shami stressed that these actions directly violated the ceasefire agreement. He also held Damascus responsible for controlling affiliated groups. Moreover, he emphasized that defensive responses remain lawful and necessary.
Finally, the SDF urged international mediators to act immediately. The force demanded pressure on violators to halt attacks. Above all, the SDF called for urgent protection of civilian lives.
