Victoria Taylor Says Trump’s Appointment of Mark Savaya Shows Renewed U.S. Focus on Iraq

U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Victoria Taylor stated that President Donald Trump’s appointment of Mark Savaya as Special Envoy to Iraq reflects Washington’s renewed focus on the country and the wider region.

Taylor emphasized that the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Kurdistan Region remain key partners for the United States. She noted that cooperation with both Erbil and Baghdad continues to advance shared goals in stability, security, and economic development.
