DNO Stops Oil Production After Drone Strikes

DNO has stopped oil production in the Kurdistan Region after drone strikes hit two of its fields. The news shocked energy markets and highlighted risks to oil production in the region.

The company shared updates from its main office in Oslo. Three explosions rocked two important oil sites. One blast damaged a small storage tank at the Tawke field. Another explosion hit surface equipment at the nearby Peshkabir field.

These attacks forced DNO to halt oil production. However, the company confirmed no one suffered injuries. Leaders now focus on checking all damage before restarting work.

Drone strikes did not just target DNO. That same morning, other oil facilities came under attack. Bomb-laden drones slammed into sites run by both American and Norwegian companies. This wave of violence raised fresh fears for the region’s oil production.

The region’s security forces released details about the incidents. One drone attacked the Hunt Oil facility near Baadre at 7:14 a.m. Two other drones struck DNO sites in the Peshkhabour area between 6:00 and 6:15 a.m. A final drone hit the Tawke field around 7:00 a.m.

These strikes caused damage but, fortunately, left no people hurt. Companies involved now check their equipment and buildings. Many oil firms fear more attacks could follow.

DNO operates several projects across the Middle East, the North Sea, and West Africa. The company started back in 1971 and now lists on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Within the Kurdistan Region, DNO plays a big role. It manages many onshore oilfields, working hard to boost oil production. However, violence threatens both safety and oil production plans.

Leaders at DNO want operations back on track soon. Still, they will not rush. Engineers must inspect every part of the damaged fields. They plan to restart oil production only after safety checks.

Meanwhile, investors watch closely. They know oil production affects prices and regional economies. Drone attacks like these remind everyone that security issues can hit oil production hard.

Energy officials now discuss how to protect oil production from future threats. More security measures may soon appear across oil fields. The region’s leaders hope to keep oil production safe and steady.

For now, DNO waits to complete checks and repairs. They aim to resume oil production as soon as it’s safe. Everyone hopes peace returns so oil production can keep flowing without fear.
