Nearly 80% of Slemani Civil Servants Join MyAccount Program

Slemani has seen a rapid rise in enrollment for the Kurdistan Regional Government’s MyAccount program. Nearly 80% of the city’s civil servants have already registered. This marks a significant step toward modernizing the region’s payment systems.

The program aims to shift government salaries from cash to secure digital transfers. Officials have announced plans to speed up the delivery of payment cards and expand ATM networks across the city. This will make it easier for employees to access their wages and manage their finances.

By moving to digital payments, the government hopes to reduce cash handling risks and increase transparency. Civil servants will benefit from faster transactions and more reliable payment schedules. The system also allows them to monitor their accounts online and avoid long queues at payment centers.

In addition, the program supports financial inclusion by encouraging more people to use banking services. This could boost local economic activity and create new opportunities for businesses offering digital payment options.

Authorities say they will continue promoting the program until all government workers are enrolled. With these efforts, Slemani is positioning itself at the forefront of financial modernization in the Kurdistan Region.
