Kurdistan PM Masrour Barzani and Turkish Ambassador Discuss Stronger Ties and Oil Cooperation

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with the Turkish ambassador to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, strengthening economic ties, and advancing joint projects between Erbil and Ankara. The talks reflected the ongoing partnership between the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye, particularly in trade, infrastructure, and energy.

Discussions centered on the Kurdistan Regional Government’s reform agenda, environmental initiatives, and the resumption of oil exports through Türkiye’s Ceyhan port. Both sides emphasized the importance of transparent and sustainable energy cooperation that benefits regional growth and stability.

Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the Kurdistan Region’s continued commitment to reforms aimed at improving governance, modernizing institutions, and promoting investment. He also underscored the need for shared environmental projects that address climate challenges and protect natural resources.

The Turkish ambassador praised the progress achieved under the KRG’s leadership and reaffirmed Türkiye’s readiness to enhance economic collaboration and support new development initiatives.

The meeting underscored deepening ties between Erbil and Ankara, with both sides agreeing to maintain regular dialogue and strengthen coordination in trade, energy, and environmental cooperation.
