Kurdistan President Masoud Barzani Reaffirms Commitment to Elections and Coexistence in Duhok

President Masoud Barzani reaffirmed his dedication to democratic elections and peaceful coexistence during a speech in Duhok. He highlighted the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) role in advancing progress and stability throughout the Kurdistan Region.

Barzani emphasized that real development requires both unity and determination. He noted that the people of Kurdistan have overcome major challenges through cooperation and resilience. According to him, these values remain the foundation of the region’s democratic and economic growth.

He praised recent achievements in infrastructure and tourism, stressing that the government’s road projects and investment initiatives have greatly improved the quality of life for citizens. “Substantial progress has been made in road development and the tourism sector,” Barzani said, adding that these accomplishments “were not easily attained.”

Barzani also urged citizens to support the KDP in the upcoming elections, noting that a strong political mandate is essential for protecting Kurdistan’s rights and ensuring continued development. He called on all communities to participate peacefully and responsibly, reaffirming that coexistence among Kurds, Arabs, Christians, and Yazidis defines the spirit of Kurdistan.

The president concluded by expressing optimism about Kurdistan’s future, saying unity and progress will continue to guide the region toward prosperity and stability.
