Erbil – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani inaugurated a new dual road in Haji Omran, reaffirming the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) vision for balanced growth and modern infrastructure across all provinces. The project, a key element of the Ninth Cabinet’s development plan, strengthens the KDP’s record of achievement as Iraq approaches the November 11 parliamentary elections.
During the opening ceremony, Barzani described the road as a “strategic lifeline” for connecting border areas, boosting tourism, and improving trade routes. He emphasized that the project reflects the government’s long-term goal of linking all regions of Kurdistan through safe and modern transportation networks.
The new road, which spans several kilometers of mountainous terrain, aims to ease traffic, reduce travel time, and enhance economic activity in the vital Haji Omran region. Local officials said the development will also support local businesses and improve access to essential services for nearby communities.
Barzani reiterated that the KRG remains committed to implementing projects that directly benefit citizens, noting that the cabinet’s strategy prioritizes both urban and rural areas. He added that ongoing reforms and investment in public services demonstrate the government’s clear results-oriented approach.
Residents welcomed the project, praising the government’s continued focus on infrastructure expansion and modernization across the Kurdistan Region.
