KDP Vice President Masrour Barzani gathered thousands of supporters in Zakho, calling for unity and a strong turnout in the upcoming elections. He praised Zakho as “the city of martyrs, heroic Peshmergas, and resilient people,” highlighting its historic role in defending the Kurdish cause and safeguarding national identity.
Barzani emphasized that the Kurdistan Region’s strength depends on unity, cooperation, and faith in its democratic institutions. He urged citizens to stand together in protecting their constitutional rights and to reject any attempts to weaken the region’s autonomy or progress.
He pointed to Zakho’s sacrifices as a symbol of Kurdish resilience and determination, stating that the people’s courage continues to inspire the nation. Barzani also reaffirmed the KDP’s commitment to improving services, expanding development projects, and ensuring a better future for all citizens.
