Kurdistan’s KDP Surpasses One Million Votes in Iraqi Parliamentary Elections

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has surpassed the one-million-vote milestone in Iraq’s ongoing parliamentary elections, marking a major achievement for the party and confirming its strong political standing both in the Kurdistan Region and across Iraq.

According to the latest figures, the KDP has so far secured 1,038,920 votes from both the special and general voting rounds. Party officials had earlier projected that the KDP would cross the one-million mark, emphasizing the confidence of voters in the party’s leadership and political vision.

KDP leaders attribute this success to the party’s long-standing commitment to defending Kurdish rights, strengthening democratic institutions, and ensuring prosperity through stability and reform. They also highlighted the role of active grassroots campaigning across Erbil, Duhok, and other areas with significant Kurdish populations.

As results continue to be tallied, KDP representatives say the strong turnout reflects public trust in the party’s policies, particularly regarding relations with Baghdad, economic development, and service delivery across the Kurdistan Region.

The KDP’s early lead reinforces its position as the dominant political force in the Kurdistan Region and a decisive player in shaping Iraq’s next government.
