Khamis al-Khanjar Criticizes Sykes-Picot and Pushes for Justice

At the MEPS 2025 forum, Khamis al-Khanjar spoke about historical and current challenges facing Kurdistan. He strongly criticized the Sykes-Picot agreement, arguing it harmed the region’s people. He called for justice for both Kurds and Palestinians, emphasizing the need to address long-standing grievances. Moreover, he stressed that returning displaced persons remains a priority for stability and reconciliation.

Al-Khanjar also highlighted his political plans for the new government. He confirmed that the Sovereignty Alliance will meet with the Kurdistan Democratic Party to discuss forming Iraq’s next federal administration.
