Kurdistan: Ismail Kamil Says Global Silence Encourages Terror

KDC President Ismail Kamil reacted strongly to the latest missile strike on the Khor Mor gas field and urged the world to respond. He said that hostile groups now target crucial Kurdish energy sites with growing confidence, and he stressed that these groups try to undermine the Kurdistan Region’s economy and daily life.

Kamil said that the attack hurt thousands of families because the strike cut power supplies and created fear in several communities. Moreover, he argued that the incident showed how serious the security threat has become. He urged global partners to recognize the danger before it escalates.

Furthermore, Kamil warned that silence from the international community encourages more aggression. He explained that the lack of a strong reaction gives armed groups room to expand their operations. He said that this silence signals weakness and invites more instability across the region.

In addition, Kamil urged the Kurdistan Regional Government and Baghdad to strengthen cooperation so they can protect major energy facilities. He noted that both sides share responsibility for security and must take stronger steps to stop similar attacks. He highlighted that energy fields support economic growth, and he warned that more strikes could slow development.

Kamil also called on friendly nations to support Kurdistan with stronger diplomatic pressure on those behind the attacks. He said that the region needs clear international backing for air-defense systems and coordinated action to deter further threats. He argued that Kurdistan will move toward stability only when its partners act together.
