Kurdistan: Masoud Barzani Joins Melayê Cizîrî Symposium in Shernakh

President Masoud Barzani traveled to Shernakh and joined the Fourth International Melayê Cizîrî Symposium. He met academics, writers, and cultural researchers who gathered to honor the classical Kurdish poet’s lasting influence. Barzani highlighted the poet’s role in shaping Kurdish literary identity. He also stressed the value of strong cultural exchanges across Kurdish regions.

Barzani noted that Melayê Cizîrî inspired generations of Kurdish thinkers. He said the poet created a bridge between philosophy, spirituality, and language. Moreover, he explained that the poet’s work still guides young writers who seek deeper meaning in Kurdish literature. Barzani also praised the organizers for creating a platform that strengthens cultural dialogue.
