Kurdistan – Barzani and Hungarian Consul General Strengthen Diplomatic Vision

President Masoud Barzani welcomed Hungary’s new Consul General in Erbil and opened a detailed discussion on bilateral cooperation. The Consul General, who wrote his master’s thesis on Kurdistan, expressed strong admiration for the Region’s resilience and cultural depth. This personal academic connection created a warm tone as both sides moved into political and economic topics.

President Barzani highlighted ongoing developments within the Region and explained new priorities for economic modernization. He emphasized the importance of dependable trade partnerships, particularly with European countries that value long-term stability. Moreover, he encouraged Hungary to deepen engagement with emerging sectors, including agriculture, technology, education, and energy.

The Consul General shared Hungary’s interest in broader commercial cooperation. He outlined opportunities for Hungarian companies and emphasized strong willingness to invest in strategic sectors. He also praised the Region’s security and stability, noting that these conditions create clear incentives for foreign investors.
