Kurdistan – Nechirvan Barzani Reaffirms Support for Women’s Leadership

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani marked the 73rd anniversary of the Kurdistan Women’s Union with a strong message that highlighted women’s central role in the region’s future. He honored the organization’s long history and celebrated the sacrifices that generations of Kurdish women made for freedom, dignity, and social progress. He also emphasized that modern Kurdish society grows stronger when women gain full access to leadership and decision-making positions.

President Barzani stressed continuous efforts to expand women’s influence in government and administrative centers. He noted that women contribute daily to the region’s stability, education, healthcare, and cultural development. Moreover, he encouraged officials to create more opportunities that allow women to shape strategic policies. He stated that stronger female participation strengthens institutions and supports long-term reform.
