New Rainfall Wave Expected Across Kurdistan Region

Kurdistan Region weather forecast indicate that another wave of rainfall will begin tomorrow night across the Kurdistan Region. Meteorologists also predict possible snowfall in mountainous areas as temperatures fluctuate. The change follows several days of relatively mild daytime weather.

Weather expert and Ava presenter Sheikh Dara stated that temperatures today rose compared to previous days. He explained that daytime conditions will remain generally pleasant across most areas. However, weather patterns are expected to shift overnight. According to Sheikh Dara, the influence of the Mediterranean Sea will reach the region late tomorrow night, bringing widespread rainfall. At the same time, colder air may cause snowfall in higher elevations and mountainous zones.

Sheikh Dara added that this system represents only part of a broader weather pattern. Based on current forecasts, the Kurdistan Region weather forecast may experience up to three additional waves of rain and snow before the end of the month. These weather systems could contribute positively to water reserves and agriculture, especially following periods of limited precipitation.

Today’s temperatures varied significantly across different areas of the region. Erbil recorded a high of 13°C and a low of 6°C. Sulaymaniyah saw cooler conditions, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 3°C. Kirkuk experienced similar highs at 13°C, with lows around 4°C. Duhok recorded the coldest conditions, reaching a high of only 1°C and dropping to –6°C overnight.

Halabja registered a high of 11°C and a low of 1°C, while Zakho recorded temperatures between 10°C and 5°C. In Raparîn, temperatures ranged from 9°C to 3°C. Soran experienced colder conditions, with highs at 4°C and lows at –3°C. Garmiyan recorded the warmest weather, with a high of 14°C and a low of 5°C.

Authorities advise residents in mountainous areas to remain cautious due to potential snowfall and changing road conditions.
