President Barzani Condemns Hate Campaign Against Syrian Arabs

President Masoud Barzani strongly condemned a recent hate campaign targeting Syrian Arab communities in the Kurdistan Region. He warned that such actions threaten social harmony and undermine the region’s long-standing tradition of coexistence. His remarks came amid growing public concern over online and social tensions.

In a statement, President Barzani rejected collective blame and emphasized individual responsibility. “It is unjust to hold an entire community accountable for the actions of individuals who are not connected to them,” he said. He stressed that discrimination and hate speech have no place in a society built on mutual respect.

Moreover, President Barzani highlighted the Kurdistan Region’s history of welcoming displaced people. He noted that communities from different ethnic and religious backgrounds have lived together peacefully for decades. According to him, unity remains essential during times of regional instability.

He also called on citizens, media platforms, and political actors to act responsibly. He urged them to avoid spreading misinformation and inflammatory language. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of dialogue in resolving misunderstandings and preventing escalation.

Furthermore, President Barzani warned that hate campaigns only serve to deepen divisions. He argued that such narratives weaken social cohesion and distract from shared challenges. Therefore, he encouraged collective efforts to promote tolerance and understanding.

Officials echoed his concerns and reaffirmed commitments to protect all communities equally. They stressed that the law applies to individuals, not groups. Community leaders also urged calm and cooperation to preserve stability.

Observers noted that the statement sends a clear message against racism and collective punishment. It reinforces the Kurdistan Region’s stance on coexistence and human dignity. As a result, many welcomed the call for restraint and unity.

Ultimately, President Barzani’s remarks underscored the need for solidarity. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence remains the region’s strength. His message aimed to reaffirm shared values amid rising tensions.
