Kurdistan Investors Donate 700 Million Dinars to Support IDPs

Investors in the Kurdistan Region have pledged 700 million Iraqi dinars to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Western Kurdistan. The funds target families affected by the ongoing conflict in Kobani and other cities.

Officials said the donations aim to provide urgent relief, including food, medical supplies, and temporary shelter. They stressed the importance of supporting displaced communities during the current humanitarian crisis.

The investors announced that financial and material support will continue in the coming days. They plan to mobilize additional resources to address immediate needs and ensure longer-term assistance.

Local authorities welcomed the initiative and highlighted the role of private sector contributions in alleviating pressure on humanitarian services. They also encouraged other businesses and organizations to participate in relief efforts.

Displacement in Western Kurdistan has surged due to escalating military activity and blockades. Humanitarian agencies have repeatedly called for increased international support to protect civilians and provide essential aid.

Officials emphasized that funds from investors will complement aid from local authorities and international partners. The goal is to maintain steady support for families facing shortages of food, water, and medical care.

Representatives of the investor group said their commitment reflects a broader effort to assist affected populations while promoting social responsibility and solidarity.

Authorities continue to coordinate distribution efforts to ensure that resources reach the most vulnerable families efficiently. They also aim to monitor the impact of contributions and adjust assistance as needed.

The initiative represents one of the largest private-sector contributions to IDPs in recent months. Organizers said similar efforts are expected in other regions affected by displacement and conflict.
