PM Masrour Barzani Welcomes SDF Agreement, Sees Chance for Broader Stability

PM Masrour Barzani has welcomed the recent agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces. He described the deal as a constructive step toward stability in Syria.

In a statement, the prime minister said dialogue offers a realistic way forward. Therefore, he encouraged all sides to remain committed to political solutions.

Moreover, Barzani emphasized that expanding the agreement could reduce tensions nationwide. He said broader implementation could support peace and coexistence.

At the same time, he stressed the importance of protecting all communities. In particular, he highlighted the rights of Kurds within Syria’s future political framework.

Furthermore, the prime minister noted that years of conflict have harmed Syria’s social fabric. As a result, rebuilding trust now requires cooperation and restraint.

Meanwhile, Barzani warned that renewed fighting could worsen instability. Consequently, extremist groups could exploit security gaps again.

Additionally, he said regional calm depends on responsible behavior from all actors. Therefore, he urged respect for ceasefire efforts and agreements.

Likewise, Barzani called on international partners to support dialogue. He said global engagement remains essential for long-term stability.

In addition, he emphasized that military solutions cannot resolve political crises. Instead, he said inclusive talks must guide Syria’s future.

Notably, the agreement comes amid ongoing humanitarian challenges. Meanwhile, many civilians continue to face displacement and insecurity.

Accordingly, Barzani said progress requires practical implementation. He stressed that commitments must translate into action.

Finally, he reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s support for peaceful initiatives. Ultimately, he expressed hope for stability, freedom, and progress across Syria.
