Kurdistan Region Launches e-Psûle Digital Payment Platform

The Kurdistan Region has officially launched the e-Psûle digital payment platform. Prime Minister Masrour Barzani attended the unveiling ceremony on Monday. The government presented the system as a major step toward financial modernization.

The e-Psûle digital payment platform operates as a unified and fee-free system. Importantly, Iraq’s Central Bank approved the platform. As a result, the system meets national banking standards. Officials said the platform will support secure and transparent transactions.

During the event, Prime Minister Barzani highlighted digital reform priorities. He stressed the importance of modern financial tools. Moreover, he said digital payments strengthen economic trust. He added that the platform will simplify daily transactions for citizens and businesses.

The platform allows users to send and receive payments easily. It also supports government services and private sector payments. Therefore, officials expect faster transactions. In addition, they expect lower operating costs. The system removes service fees entirely.

Government officials explained that e-Psûle connects banks, institutions, and users. Consequently, it reduces reliance on cash. It also increases financial inclusion. Many citizens without traditional banking access can now use digital payments.

The Kurdistan Regional Government views the launch as part of broader reforms. Previously, the government expanded e-governance services. Now, digital finance strengthens those efforts. Furthermore, officials believe the platform will attract investment.

The Central Bank’s approval adds credibility. Therefore, businesses can trust the system. Likewise, international partners can engage more easily. Officials said compliance and security remain top priorities.

In conclusion, the e-Psûle digital payment platform marks a milestone. It reflects the Kurdistan Region’s push toward a digital economy. Leaders expect long-term economic benefits.
